Mr. Karvel is originally from Minnesota.  His undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota was in English and Philosophy.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree for the University of Minnesota Law School in 1983.  Mr. Karvel has broad knowledge and practical experience that he has accumulated over the years that he uses in his practice of law.

Having enjoyed living in the West before, Mr. Karvel moved to Arizona in 1984 and was admitted to the Arizona State and Federal Bars the following year.  He practices only in Arizona. Mr. Karvel practices in the areas of Contract Law, Family Law, Creditor and Debtor representation in Bankruptcy, Insurance, Probate, Guardian and Conservatorship Law, Personal Injury, Real Estate and General Civil Litigation and Criminal law.  He is an attorney that has a great deal of courtroom experience and gives a calm, reasoned, and logical presentation of his Client's positions in court.  As an accomplished trial lawyer, he thrives on the conflict and confrontation of cross examination of opposing parties and witnesses.  He is a tireless pillar of strength and resolve for his clients in the courtroom. 
 
Mr. Karvel enjoys bicycle riding, gardening, cooking, art, antiques, state of the art audio and video equipment and remodeling of his historic residential property.  He is a dog lover and raises Basset puppies.  He has recently studied Navajo at Phoenix College and plans to continue to study Navajo as well as to learn other languages.  He says this is what he will do if he ever retires.
