Fees and Costs of Bankruptcy

Filing for bankruptcy is not a free process. There are many people involved in the process, all of whom are being paid to take care of burgeoning the case load which has no end in sight. Though the court personnel all work for the government, they are ultimately paid by us. Therefore, the courts will charge a filing fee. The court cost, photocopies and postage lost will be about three hundred fifty dollars. Other costs will include the money that you pay to your attorney to help get you through this difficult and complex task. If the filing is simple, with little property and is liquidation, you may be charge a flat one time fee. The more complex the filing, the more costs you will incur.
