Andrew's Background

Andrew Rahtz is from Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2002. Mr. Rahtz then relocated to Southern California where he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of La Verne, College of Law with a full merit scholarship.

During law school Mr. Rahtz excelled at oral arguments and clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, working with prosecutors on child abuse cases.

After law school, Mr. Rahtz worked at a large insurance defense firm in Los Angeles handling construction defect and personal injury matters. Realizing he preferred working directly with real people, Mr. Rahtz moved to the Phoenix area in 2007 to focus on plaintiff work with an emphasis on civil litigation.

Working alongside another attorney in a small firm, Mr. Rahtz excelled at client interaction, quickly identifying legal problems, and developing comprehensive plans of action to address and resolve such problems. Mr. Rahtz honed his knack for working with clients and was recognized by the Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona State Bar for excellent client feedback.

Given the breadth of his varied experience and the priority he places on service to clients, Mr. Rahtz was a perfect fit for Platt & Westby, P.C. He has been with the firm since 2012 and became Partner in 2017. He is proficient in the practice areas of Civil Litigation, Collections, Real Estate, Estate Planning, Guardianship/Conservatorship, Bankruptcy, and Probate Litigation. Specifically, Mr. Rahtz yields a high return in managing and coordinating caseloads and is able to assimilate new and different legal principles quickly and efficiently in order to meet the needs of his clients.

Mr. Rahtz resides in North Phoenix with his wife, Amanda, and 2 daughters. Outside of practicing law, he enjoys working out and spending time outdoors. He has taken multiple fishing and canoeing trips to the Canadian boundary waters and has hiked several Arizona mountains including a trip through the Grand Canyon and Havasupai Falls. Mr. Rahtz is also an avid reader, with history being his favorite subject.

Mr. Rahtz believes in giving back to the community and has worked with the Meals on Wheels program. Mr. Rahtz is also a member of the Young Buckeyes of Phoenix Alumni Club.
