Meet Ashley Grimes, Phoenix Area Attorney
Ashley Grimes is a dedicated attorney who strives to expand-her experience into various diverse areas so that her legal skills are set upon a foundation of strong education, continuous research, and continuous study of new legal concepts. Ashley Grimes completed her bachelor's degree at ASU, majoring in Communication with a minor in Political Science. She has worked in various fields to expand her experience across several areas of interest in the legal community and the community at large.
Ashley worked at a Crisis Nursery, a children's shelter, for 5 years while obtaining her undergraduate degree and gained valuable insight into CPS (Child Protective Service) cases and how they are dealt with. Ashley has passion for helping those who are often overlooked, and she is dedicated to giving back to the community in meaningful ways.
While obtaining her law school degree at Arizona Summit Law School (formerly Phoenix School of Law), Ashley worked as a Web Producer, Marketing and Communications Assistant, and Legal Clinician. She received a CALI award for "Excellent Achievement in the Study of Workers' Compensation Law" and she completed an externship at Taylor and Associates during her last year in law school. During Ashley's employment as a Legal Clinician, she worked in the areas of: Human Rights and Immigration Law, Mediation, Veterans' Tax, and Veterans' Legal Assistance. She focused on work in Immigration after going through the process of fiting for permanent residency with her husband, a German Citizen. Ashley believes that Immigration Law can be daunting for individuals and is an area where many are often taken advantage of. She is dedicated to helping clients with Immigration and USCIS communications.
Ashley has run her own firm for over 7 years and chose to work for Platt & Westby, P.C., in February of 2022, (choosing to reduce her firm practice area to MSB clients only) because of the incredible associates, partners, and employees who stood out from all other law firms. Ashley has engaged in legal work and/or litigation with government entities such as FINCEN, the FTC, and administrative entities such as ICANN and various state administrative bodies as In House Counsel to move company projects forward while ensuring compliance with government, licensing, and administrative regulations. She has a very broad knowledge in technology law as a result of her history with web design, virtual world legal analysis and research, programming, hardware, and technology research.
Ashley is dedicated to upholding the highest standard as an attorney in all aspects of her career path. In her free time, Ashley enjoys ballet and ballroom dance, spending time with her family, traveling, learning new skills, and building off the grid solutions on her small farm up north where she practices archery and other hobbies with her family. Ashley believes in a life dedicated to helping others and fostering a real sense of community amongst others.
